Sandro Pedrazzini

My Sport...

I am software engineer and computer science teacher. My working area and interests have been computational linguistics, object-oriented design and development, and information retrieval.

In my teaching activity I try to teach aspects that emphasize one's working experience. In a professional field where the last technology always seems the best, where the new graduates seem to have more and more advantages in respect to the preceeding ones, it is important to find out which are the most relevant elements and technologies that will live more than a season, and on which it is worth to invest time and build your own experience.

In this context I get a big help from my activity as software engineer at Canoo and from my collegues there. As company we use and promote project management approaches following the Agile Software Development methodologies, which primary rule is to "satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software". The practice influence of such methodologies in the design and development phases is a strong use of refactoring, test and design patterns, which I am teaching to my students as important elements of experience in the software development job.

The picture? Not my face, but a small tribute to a great sport that I used to actively play in better times...
